2 days in An Giang - Mekong Delta and things should not be missed.

 I still remembered those tough days of my Gap year in late May 2017. I left the job of being a cooking tour guide in Hoian to go down to the South of Vietnam and start a new experience becoming a Coach of American Paradise Camp. Before entering the camp, I have chanced to pass by An Giang Province which

If you have chances visit An Giang which has borders with Cambodia and 6 hours riding from Ho Chi Minh city. An Giang province belongs to the Mekong Delta and located in the south of Vietnam, it has 2 big cities Long Xuyen and Chau Doc. An Giang has tropical weather with 2 main seasons Dry season and rainy season.

Time to visit An Giang

However, you can visit An Giang anytime during the year, particularly you will be immersed yourself into the big festival named Ba Chua Xu Temple Festival (23rd to 27th of April) and Racing Bull Festival (late August) following Lunar calendar. From late May to November is the rainy seasons so that you should check the weather before visiting. 

Because of locating in Mekong Delta which is famous for vast rice fields, you can contemplate the very gorgeous green rice terraces or ride out on the road to smell the aroma of ripe rice must be an awesome experience. Referral time to see the rice fields from November to February for Winter harvest (depend on the type of rice) and from June to August for Summer Harvest.

Transportation 

If you are young and in passion for discovering, I recommend you should confidently choose a motorbike to able to enjoy experiences as the best as possible. 

It takes about 177km and 4 - 5 hours riding or driving from Ho Chi Minh city to Long Xuyen city (one of two cities of An Giang) so that its location is not too bad.

You can also reach here by bus and there are many bus company that you can buy tickets with a very affordable price, just around 100,000 VND ($5)  - 150,000 VND ($7,5) and you also can check a suitable time on https://vexere.com or http://vetaugiare24h.com which are the popular site for booking bus in Vietnam.

In case, you rise the intend suddenly to visit here, you can also go ahead to the bus station and catch a bus to start your trip without a booking because of various routes from Ho Chi Minh city to An Giang province departing every day. Do remember checking the time on the website first before going to the bus station.
